Lucky Café in Tremont gets some star treatment on "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives," hosted by Guy Fieri. This evening's segment is tentatively themed "Barbecued, brined and baked," says Lucky's chef-owner, Heather Haviland.
"Beyond excited" is how she feels about the show's airing. Fieri visited Lucky's and several other local eateries early in July.
"We were having such a good time, the producer had to stop us a couple of times and remind us we were filming," she says. "I was so nervous at first, but after about 10 minutes I felt like I was just in the kitchen cooking with my best friend."
Two other segments featuring Cleveland landmarks are scheduled for broadcast on Fieri's show this fall, according to Food Network spokeswoman Lisa Krueger. On Oct. 26, Fieri will feature the fresh-smoked salmon in Parkview Night Club's Salmon BLT. Then on Nov. 16, he lights up Geraci's, the University Heights destination that's been operated by the same family for more than 50 years.
