"White Collar" (USA, 10 p.m.) is a new series starring Matt Borner, a criminal mastermind, who is recruited to help solve crimes as part of a way to fill out his punishment. Pairing with an FBI agent played by Tim DeKay makes for the usual unlikely partners scenario. Tiffani Thiessen and Willie Garson are seen very briefly in support roles. Although the first episode gets better as it goes along, it's generally minus the dash of humor that helped USA's other Friday night shows, "Monk" and "Psych," work so well.
